- All 2.6 million Victorian households are eligible to opt into the plan through Retailers, though Customers will only benefit if they shift usage away from peak periods to the middle of the day.
- The Australian Energy Council warned that Customers unable to shift power use may not benefit, while Louisa Kinnear noted Retailers might charge higher prices outside the free period to cover supply costs.
- Retailers will be required to offer a discounted Energy tariff to households during the day, as Premier Jacinta Allan said the plan means working from home "can save you time and money.

Victorian households will soon be offered three hours of free electricity during the day under a state government plan to reduce household energy bills.
On March 25, Victoria announced a plan to offer three hours of free electricity at midday, which is expected to save households hundreds of dollars in electricity bills annually. Previously, the federal government had announced similar plans for New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia.
