Ceo Bauer Jr., a 101-year-old World War II veteran and native of Carson City, recently returned home from a trip to Normandy, France, where he spent a week taking part in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of “D-Day,” the largest seaborne invasion in world history and the beginning of the end for the Nazi war effort. “It was the greatest week I've ever had my life, and I had to wait 101 years to experience it,” Bauer said.
