Mike Perry Batters Nate Diaz In Bloody TKO Win
Mike Perry secured a two-round TKO victory over Nate Diaz on Saturday night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, after a ringside doctor halted the welterweight bout due to a severe cut on Diaz's forehead.
Perry dominated the 41-year-old Diaz with 10 minutes of steady punishment, leaving him covered in blood. The stoppage mirrors a previous loss where a ringside physician similarly halted Diaz's fight due to an injury over his eye.
"I didn't think they were going to stop it," Diaz said, noting he was ready to continue. Perry called his opponent "the toughest guy out there" following his first MMA victory since June 2020.
The contest occurred on the undercard of Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano's bout. Earlier, Robelis Despaigne knocked out Junior Dos Santos, while Francis Ngannou defeated Philipe Lins in his second MMA fight in four years.
Perry now eyes a potential rematch with Jake Paul, who previously defeated him in boxing. This victory marks a significant resurgence for Perry, who transitioned to bare-knuckle boxing after a difficult 1-4 stretch in the UFC.
