Poland plans to extend the validity of the buffer zone along the 78 km stretch of the border with Belarus for another 90 days.

The suspension of asylum rights has deterred illegal immigrants. The number of attempts to cross the border illegally has fallen by half, and the number of applications has fallen 30-fold – reports "Rzeczpospolita".

Migration pressure on the Polish-Belarusian border is decreasing. This is partly due to new regulations that restrict the right to submit asylum applications.
