LinkedIn Names Insider Daniel Shapero as New CEO
Dan Shapero takes over LinkedIn as Microsoft expands AI features and Roslansky stays on as executive vice president, the company said.
- On Wednesday, Microsoft named Chief Operating Officer Daniel Shapero as LinkedIn's new CEO, effective immediately, succeeding Ryan Roslansky after six years.
- Under Roslansky, LinkedIn's membership grew to 1.3 billion from about 700 million members, while annual revenue climbed from roughly $8 billion to more than $17 billion.
- Shapero, a 2008 hire from Bain, will lead the platform through AI-driven change. The company appointed Mohak Shroff as president of Platforms & Digital Work.
- Roslansky remains an EVP at Microsoft, with Shapero reporting to him. "Dan has led sales, marketing, and product," Roslansky wrote in a LinkedIn post.
- These changes arrive as Microsoft integrates AI across its Office productivity group and LinkedIn. The platform accounted for 6.3% of Microsoft's 2025 annual revenue.
