Passionate Carrick Gives Six-Minute Speech and Admits Manchester United Have Lost Their Way but Denies Dressing Room Is Divided
Carrick said United must return to humility and hard work after a 4-1 loss at Como and the club’s worst league start in 40 years.
On Friday, Manchester United manager Michael Carrick delivered a six-minute address at his pre-match press conference, calling for the club to return to its foundational values of humility, hard work, and sacrifice.
The plea follows a seven-game winless streak, culminating in a 4-1 defeat to Como on Wednesday, leaving United mired in its worst league start for 40 years.
Carrick cited legends Sir Alex Ferguson, Ryan Giggs, Sir Matt Busby, Sir Bobby Charlton, and Wayne Rooney, emphasizing "sacrifice, humility and hard work" as the club's foundation.
Ahead of Sunday's match against Bournemouth, Carrick dismissed reports of a divided squad and refused to rule out dropping captain Bruno Fernandes.
Despite mounting pressure, Carrick insisted he is "100 per cent sure" he can turn United's fortunes around, stating he will always do what is best for the club.
