- Accounts allow up to $5,000 per year from parents, guardians, and individuals, with employers contributing up to $2,500, invested in an index fund tracking the stock market.
- Using ZIP-code targeting, the Dells said they aim to reach 25 million children 10 and younger in areas with the lowest income, the clearest way to benefit most, they added.
- For babies born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, Treasury will start accounts with a $1,000 balance, and parents can file IRS Form 4547 at any time; activation begins Jan. 2025, and online elections open in 2026.
