AVON, Ohio - On March 20, Ivan Dahlberg (Minooka, Ill./Illinois-Springfield) hit a walkoff grand slam in the 10th inning to get the Northern Illinois University baseball team a 17-13 win over the Miami RedHawks. Just over two months later, Dahlberg drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the 15th to get the Huskies a 6-5 win over the Mid-American Conference regular season champions at the MAC Baseball Championship at ForeFront Field.

AVON, Ohio – The RedHawks lost a 6-5 battle with the Northern Illinois Huskies on Thursday after playing six extra innings. Carson Byers, Austin Berggren and Jake Tedesco kept the game competitive, combining for 8.0 scoreless innings and holding the Huskies to a combined three hits. The RedHawks fall to 38-16 (25-8 MAC) with the victory, while the Huskies improve to 32-17 (21-12 MAC).
