From October 12, the new Automated Entry/Exit System (AEES) will be implemented across the European Union, which will automatically register and store information on the entry of non-EU citizens into 29 European countries.

Citizens of Montenegro retain the right to visa-free travel to the Schengen area under the same conditions as before, with the addition of biometric registration, which will be carried out on-site at border crossings.
