Fox Sports Adds Mexico Star Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez to World Cup Coverage
Hernández will make his English-language TV debut as Fox adds a three-time World Cup player and Mexico’s all-time leading scorer to its coverage team.
- On Thursday, Fox Sports announced that Mexico's all-time leading scorer Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández will join the network's 2026 World Cup coverage as a studio analyst. The 37-year-old makes his television debut this summer.
- Hernández scored 52 goals for Mexico and competed in the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups. His career with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and the Galaxy provided the international credibility Fox Sports sought.
- "I'm a rookie, so I expect to have fun," Hernández said in a news release. He joins a broadcast roster including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thierry Henry, and Rebecca Lowe, having chosen to provide analysis in English.
- Fox Sports president and executive producer Brad Zager said the network prioritized voices with "instant international credibility" for the tournament. Mexico serves as a co-host alongside the United States and Canada, elevating the hire's strategic importance.
- Hernández joins four other former Galaxy players including Landon Donovan and Alexi Lalas on the Fox broadcast team. The network will confirm its full lineup as the tournament approaches this summer.
