The body of journalist Roxana Guzmán, who was abducted from her home by armed men in Mexico on June 2, has been found. Eight people, including four municipal police officers, have been detained in connection with the incident, and the murder has brought the issue of deadly violence against journalists back to the forefront in the country.

Mexican authorities announced today that the remains found at a site in the eastern state of Veracruz belong to journalist Roxana Guzman, whose murder has once again drawn public attention to the threat to media freedom in that country, reports Reuters.
Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries to work as a journalist, with more than 150 professionals murdered since 1994, according to Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
Roxana Guzmán was kidnapped at home by armed men on 2 June. Her body was found on a farm 20 km from the abduction site in Veracruz.
