Metropolitan Division foes meet when Philadelphia hosts Carolina
Joseph Woll is expected to start again after stopping 41 of 44 shots in Philadelphia’s overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils.
On Saturday, the Philadelphia Flyers host the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. in a Metropolitan Division matchup, with both teams seeking their first win after opening 0-1-1.
Carolina finished last season 53-22-7 overall, while the Flyers posted a 43-27-12 record, positioning both teams to improve their early Metropolitan Division standing.
Goaltender Joseph Woll is expected to start his second consecutive game after stopping 41 of 44 shots against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, posting a.937 save percentage.
The Flyers will be without forward Nikita Grebenkin, sidelined with an undisclosed injury, and Denver Barkey, who is out with a lower-body issue.
Woll aims for a bounce-back season with the Flyers after posting a 3.34 goals-against average in 39 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season.
