Four arrested as hundreds of suspected stolen phones are found
Four men were arrested after officers found the phones in a shop storage area during a weeklong crackdown on theft and robbery, police said.
On Thursday, April 09, 2026, the Metropolitan Police raided a Kilburn High Road shop and seized more than 500 suspected stolen mobile phones during enforcement action targeting organised crime in North West London.
Intelligence suggesting the venue was being used to supply class B drugs prompted the warrant, leading officers to discover the hidden device stash behind a padlocked storage room door.
Video footage shows officers snapping the padlock to enter the dark storage area, where shelves were stacked with mobile phones and iPhone packaging. "That's loads of phones in here," one officer remarked.
Four men were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and drug offences; three suspects were released on bail and one released under investigation during the week-long Brent initiative.
Earlier this year, the Met seized 770 stolen phones and made 248 arrests during four weeks of action across London, demonstrating sustained efforts to disrupt organised criminal networks profiting from stolen devices.
