In an attempt to deal with the Ukrainian drone strikes and deprive citizens of free access to information, Russian authorities have set a new record for internet shutdowns. In June alone, the country recorded 655 network outages of varying magnitude, the In Touch project reported. This is more than twice the total number of internet outages worldwide in 2024.
