Merline Herbert, beloved matriarch of Creole Lunch House, dies in Lafayette
Merline and Raymond Herbert opened their restaurant Creole Lunch House in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1983. They have grown into a beloved local spot serving famous plate lunches and stuffed breads, and Merline has been a past fixture as a food vendor at Jazz Fest in New Orleans.
