After AMG had recently introduced high-performance e-cars, the now presented CLE 646 "Special production" aims at the heart of the burner fans. The 30-piece limited high-performance version of the coupé is built by hand in Affalterbach and is intended to be suitable for both the road and the race track.

Mercedes-AMG develops 646hp CLE Spezialanfertigung for road and track
Mercedes-AMG has revealed the CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung and said that development of the vehicle focused on driving dynamics, combining a 646hp (475kW) V8 biturbo engine with rear-wheel drive, reduced weight and a chassis tuned for precision. A wide-body design with wider tracks, carbon-fiber components and dedicated aerodynamic elements is intended to improve its dynamic performance. [...]
It is the second car of Mercedes's super exclusive Mythos Series and trades the 6-cylinder mechanics and the four-wheel drive of CLE 53 for a 646 hp V8 biturbo and rear-wheel drive. It weighs about 170 kg less and reaches 310 km/h of maximum speed. AMG's last sportsman is the 646 Spezialanfertigung, a Coupé with which Mercedes has returned the V8 engine to its sportsmen. It could have been called Black Series without any problem.
