When the European Union unveils its long-term spending proposals next week, it will kick off the bloc's biggest budget battle in recent history.
The proposal, which refers to the EU budget for the period 2028-2034, comes after more Member States have supported the consolidation of links between the rule of law and European funding in documents transmitted to the Commission.
A fierce political battle is predicted for the next multiannual EU budget, as the money is far from enough to realize all interests.
