Meghan Markle's father arrested by FBI over child sex abuse material: Report
Federal agents detained the 82-year-old after investigators found suspected child sexual abuse material at linked sites in Mexico and the Philippines.
Federal agents arrested 82-year-old Thomas Markle Sr. on Friday at Maravida Senior Living in Lakeland, Florida, following investigations into suspected child sexual abuse material discovered at properties in Mexico and the Philippines.
The arrest followed a Daily Mail report detailing child exploitation material found in a rented storage unit in Rosarito, Mexico, prompting Mexican authorities to seize the property last weekend.
Separately, authorities in Cebu, Philippines, confirmed finding 'explicit content' involving male and female minors on electronic devices discovered by Thomas Markle Jr., 60, at their former residence.
Markle has vehemently denied the allegations, telling the Daily Mail 'I had no storage units in Rosarito!' while his daughter, the Duchess of Sussex, said she was 'deeply distressed' by the news.
Federal officials have not independently confirmed formal charges, and Markle remains presumed innocent unless convicted as the multinational investigation into the alleged materials continues across three countries.
