A vigil is scheduled Friday to honor the 16-year-old McNary High School student who died in car crash earlier in the week. The public vigil for Zolayha Johnson is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Southeast Keizer Community Center. The center operates out of the Salem Mennonite Church at 1045 Candlewood Dr. N.E. McNary junior dies in high-speed crash, driver facing chages
A 33-year-old Salem man took four minors on a joyride on Marion County backroads, drinking and smoking marijuana with them before crashing on Sunday evening, a survivor of the crash told police. The Marion County District Attorney’s Office charged Christopher Atkinson on Monday with manslaughter, assault, reckless driving and furnishing alcohol to minors following the crash that killed 16-year-old Zolayha Johnson, a junior at McNary High School.…
