On Sunday 12 October, Italian Matteo Trentin won his third Paris-Tours, one of the oldest classics in the world, winning the sprint ahead of French title holder Christophe Laporte. The veteran of the 36-year-old Tudor team took advantage of the squashing of the two French escapees Paul Lapeira and Thibaud Gruel, who stopped riding the red flame with a single stroke, to settle a small group of six riders and win his first win of the season.
