Maternity fundraising appeal reaches major milestone
The appeal aims to improve maternity care with new equipment and facility upgrades at Worcestershire hospital sites, having raised over 75% of its target, charity officials said.
- The Hold the Moment – Maternity Appeal has reached more than 75 per cent of its target, with funds aimed to enhance maternity care across Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust’s sites in Worcester, Redditch and Kidderminster.
- Community events and grants fuelled the appeal, with support from individual fundraisers, William Cadbury, Morrisons Foundation and the Midwife Miles challenge in November and December.
- Planned spending targets equipment and facilities including jaundice meters, buddy beds for the postnatal ward at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, and a maternity bereavement suite extension with memory-making space; people can support the appeal online at www.wahcharity.org or by calling 01905 768954.
- With a quarter still to raise, the charity will press on into the New Year and aims to begin implementing improvements by spring, the charity says.
- Full funding would deliver equipment and upgraded facilities across the trust’s three hospital sites, aided by grants from William Cadbury and the Morrisons Foundation.
