Massachusetts Man Charged with Cyberstalking Podcaster and Former Trump Official Katie Miller
Federal prosecutors say John Anthony Proia III made more than 40 calls and messages in August and September using hidden numbers.
- On Thursday, federal authorities arrested John Anthony Proia III, 41, of Waltham, Massachusetts, charging him with one count of cyberstalking conservative podcaster and former Trump administration official Katie Miller.
- Between August 3 and September 23, 2026, prosecutors allege Proia contacted Miller at least 40 times using Voice Over Internet Protocol applications to generate new phone numbers and obfuscate his identity.
- The indictment claims Proia sent disturbing messages to Miller's parents, including one that read, "My god, how can you be proud of this filth?" and targeted her husband, Stephen Miller, a White House deputy chief of staff.
- "Terrorizing someone isn't some sick game, it's a crime," said Ted Docks, who leads the FBI's Boston office, as Proia is scheduled to appear in Boston Federal Court on Friday.
- The investigation reportedly caused upheaval at the FBI's Washington field office, where two counterterrorism supervisors were recently reassigned; assistant director Darren Cox attributed the moves to "constant evaluation of mission needs.
