A few months ago Meyer Burger applied for insolvency for its German subsidiaries. The subsequent search for fresh investors fails: Now the two locations of the solar manufacturer in East Germany are closed.
Insolvent solar cell manufacturer Meyer Burger has ceased operations in Bitterfeld-Wolfen and Hohenstein-Ernstthal. About 500 employees have been terminated or exempted.
The Swiss solar cell manufacturer stopped operating the sites in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. Investor search was unsuccessful.
