The organiser of a mass in tribute to Pétain in Verdun last November, was sentenced Wednesday 20 May to €5,000 fine for protesting crimes against humanity. The president of the Association to defend the memory of Marshal Pétain claimed that the latter had "save 700,000 Jews".
Suspended for public protest against the existence of a crime against humanity committed during the Second World War, Jacques Boncompain was therefore sentenced by the Verdun Judicial Court on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
