Jennettie Marshall Wins Democratic Nomination and Franklin, Taylor Advance in Superintendent Race
Unofficial results show Tulsa County residents topped both primaries for state superintendent, with Jennettie Marshall, Robert Franklin and John Taylor advancing.
According to unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board, Tulsa County resident Jennettie Marshall won the Democratic primary for state superintendent, securing about 57% of the vote.
Marshall, a former Tulsa Public Schools board of education member, defeated retired El Reno superintendent Craig McVay in the Democratic primary race.
Robert Franklin and John Taylor emerged from the GOP primary as top finishers. All three leading candidates reside in Tulsa County across both party primaries.
On the Republican side, no candidate reached the 50% threshold needed to win outright, forcing a runoff between Franklin and Taylor in August.
Marshall will face the winner of the GOP runoff in the November general election to determine Oklahoma's next state superintendent.
