Kanye West announced a new date in Europe, but the municipality doesn't like it.
The city of Marseille, in south-eastern France, said on Wednesday it opposed the arrival of American rapper Kanye West, author of antisemitic outings, who is due to give a concert on June 11.
Kanye West's concert at the Vélodrome, announced this Wednesday, March 4 for the month of June, provoked the indignation of outgoing mayor Benoît Payan. Martine Vassal's spokesperson, candidate for the Marseille City Hall, also called for the cancellation of the event.
The American rapper was to perform at the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille on 11 June 2026, but his arrival was not unanimous.
The 48-year-old musician, who has lost numerous fans and several commercial contracts in recent years after antisemitic or racist releases, is due to perform at the Velodrome Stadium on June 11.
