Condemned for two rapes and other crimes, Mette-Marit's son was one of the chosen Norwegian royal family to carry the former monarch's coffin. Borg is in house arrest.
The son of the Queen of Norway, Marius Borg Høiby, sentenced in June for rape and arrested at home with an electronic bracelet, received permission to attend the funerals of King Harald V, announced Monday the police, informs AFP.
For the funeral appointments, Marius Borg Høiby was released from the prosecutor's office.
His children King Haakon and Princess Märtha-Louise and his grandchildren, Ingrid Alexandra, his brother Sverre Magnus, as well as their half-brother Marius Borg Høiby, born from a previous relationship of Queen Mette-Marit and sentenced in June for rape, as well as Princess Märtha-Louise's daughters, carried the coffin through various halls of the palace, according to images broadcast live on the NRK public television.
