Mariners Reinstate OF Victor Robles From Injured List
Victor Robles returns after a right pectoral strain, while Connor Joe heads to Triple-A Tacoma after batting .182 in 18 games.
On Friday, the Seattle Mariners reinstated outfielder Victor Robles from the 10-day injured list and optioned utilityman Connor Joe to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding roster move.
Robles had been sidelined since April 8 with a right pectoral strain after appearing in only five games this season, forcing the team to rely on Joe for temporary coverage.
During his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma, Robles batted.256 with four doubles and seven RBIs across 12 games, while Joe hit.182 with three RBIs in 18 games for Seattle.
Seattle's bench situation remains unresolved as the team continues to evaluate struggling veterans Rob Refsnyder and Mitch Garver despite Joe's departure to make room for Robles.
With a 24-27 record, the Mariners embark on a critical road trip to end May, facing the Kansas City Royals and the division-leading Athletics in back-to-back series.
