Manhunt after prisoner escapes London medical unit
Police say Anthony Lloyd poses a risk to himself and the public as officers search for the 38-year-old after he forced his way out of a medical unit.
Police launched an urgent manhunt after prisoner Anthony Lloyd escaped from a medical facility in Lewisham on Friday. He was seen heading toward Catford, according to The Metropolitan Police.
Lloyd was serving a 12-month sentence for Actual Bodily Harm in Nottinghamshire before transferring to the Lewisham medical facility in September. The conviction followed an incident involving three emergency workers.
Described as white and of medium build with short dark hair, Lloyd was wearing a grey/blue t-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers at the time of his escape. Around 5ft 8in tall, he was last seen at approximately 4.10pm on Friday.
Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley, leading the search, urged the public not to approach Lloyd, stating he 'poses a risk both to himself and the public.' Anyone with information is asked to call 999 immediately.
Officers are conducting 'various significant inquiries' across multiple regions, as Lloyd has established links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside. While believed to be in London, he could be anywhere across these areas.
