MANHATTAN — Great Bend was two outs away from salvaging a split with Manhattan before gift-wrapping the Indians a 6-5 victory with three seventh-inning walks and a hit batter.
The Panthers lost both games despite starting its top two pitchers Daxton Minton (3-2, 3.32 ERA) and Jaxon Wondra (6-3, 2.78 ERA).
Manhattan won the opener 8-2. Great Bend (15-10) is projected to play Emporia (10-12) in next week's Andover 5A baseball regional.
