- Victor Popa lured a vulnerable 14-year-old from a taxi rank in Aberdeen, offering a lift home despite not being a taxi driver and unknown to her on 15 January 2023.

- Judge Alison Stirling told the court the attack caused 'lasting psychological and physical harm', and Popa was added to the sex offenders register with a non-harassment order banning contact.
- Authorities praised the victim's courage and emphasised ongoing support for victims of sexual crime; police and prosecutors pledged robust investigations, with Faye Cook stating 'Violence against women and girls has no place in our society'.
