- Teams from the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 106 in Sicamous and the SSAR deployed to sweep-search the water surface and shoreline after boaters reported the man missing sometime after dark.
- SSAR search manager Tara Stanley noted this was the first time in over 20 years of searches they found a "lucky swimmer"; the man, who wore no PFD, was transferred to an Emergency Health Services ambulance.
