Everyone at the Mint Hill Police Department is breathing a sigh of relief that two officers involved in a deadly child custody exchange were able to walk out of the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Mint Hill police confirm the two officers shot during a child custody exchange on Friday have been released from the hospital. The suspect, 36-year-old Tjamel Ali Hamlin II, died at the scene. A gun was recovered. The officers' identities remain undisclosed.
