Man Facing Charges in Shooting of Pregnant Woman at Mass. Pond
Anthony A. Delman faces multiple charges including armed assault with intent to murder after deliberately shooting a pregnant woman walking her dog, police confirmed.
- On Wednesday, Aug. 13, a 28-year-old pregnant woman walked into the Carver Police Department reporting she had been shot in the leg at Sampson Pond, and Carver EMS transported her to South Shore Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
- Police said they believed the shooting was not random, launching a multi-agency search with a Massachusetts State Police helicopter, Plymouth County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit, and Rochester Police Department drone, closing Lakeview Street and Tremont Street area for hours.
- Anthony A. Delman, 37, of Fryeburg, Maine, was identified as the suspect in the Carver shooting and charged with multiple offenses after allegedly shooting a male relative in Dennis; he was arrested on Aug. 14 with SWAT and Harwich Police assistance.
- A judge deemed him dangerous and ordered him held without bail at Barnstable County Correctional Facility in Bourne for up to 120 days, while the wounded woman was treated at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth for non-life-threatening injuries.
