Man drowns in lake in Summit County, authorities say

NEW FRANKLIN, Ohio — A man drowned Tuesday afternoon while swimming at Portage Lakes State Park swim beach, authorities say.A news release from the New Franklin Fire Department Chief Steve Leslie says rescuers were called to the swim area on the 5000 block of Manchester Road at about 2:46 p.m. The man was swimming with family members when he went under the water and did not resurface, Leslie says.
