Laguna Beach Man Charged with Mother's Murder in Deadly Hammer Attack
Prosecutors say Safford James Wolfson faces up to 26 years to life after his mother was found dead with blunt-force injuries.

- Officers found Caprioli dead in a bedroom with severe blunt force injuries to her head and face; Wolfson was hospitalized with self-inflicted neck injuries at Mission Hospital.
- Orange County Superior Court Judge Maria D. Hernandez set Wolfson's bail at $1 million on Monday, ordering the Orange County Sheriff to assume custody while he awaits trial.
- Wolfson faces up to 26 years to life in prison if convicted. Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer stated, "We will continue to pursue justice for Ms. Caprioli.
