One man arrested on suspicion of assault after multiple people were sprayed with pepper spray at Heathrow Terminal 3 car park, with five hospitalized and inquiries ongoing.
- On Sunday, a man was arrested on suspicion of assault after people were allegedly sprayed with a form of pepper spray at the Terminal 3 multi-storey car park, Heathrow Airport, and armed officers were called at around 8.11am.
- Police said the incident began after an argument escalated between two groups who knew each other, and authorities confirmed it is not being treated as terrorism.
- London Ambulance Service attended and 21 people, including a three-year-old girl, were treated for injuries not believed to be life-changing, while police are searching for other suspects.
- National Rail said `Although lines have now reopened, disruption is expected to continue whilst services return to normal, delays of up to 10 minutes and cancellations can be expected until 11.45am` while traffic near Terminal 3 remains affected, and the M4 Spur Road has reopened.
- The Metropolitan Police said there will be increased police presence at Heathrow throughout the morning to continue enquiries, and asked anyone with information to call 101, quoting CAD 1803 7 DEC.
