OGDEN, Utah, July 12, 2026 (Gephardt Daily) — A 51-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly started a small fire that grew out of control and became the Mountain Road wildfire. Justin Derald Hurd was arrested at 4:51 a.m. Saturday for allegedly causing a catastrophe, recklessly caused, a class A misdemeanor. His bail was set for $2,500. OGDEN, UTAH- A vegetation fire that broke out on Saturday morning in Ogden consumed approximately 18 acres and threatened several nearby homes, Ogden Fire Department reported. Authorities indicated that the fire was reported at around 12:49 a.m. in the area of 1100 North Mountain Road.
