Deutsche Telekom secures German rights to 2030 FIFA World Cup

At the end of the 2026 World Cup, Deutsche Telekom announced that the company has secured the transmission rights for the 2030 World Cup. Public authorities are hoping for sub-licenses.
Telekom has also secured the TV rights for the 104 games of the next Men's Football World Cup in 2030. All games of the tournament will be on show at the fee-paying Magenta TV station, said Telekom CEO Diehl.
The Group is once again buying World Cup rights and in four years' time it wants "numerous exclusive games" for its pay-TV offer. This raises a number of questions for public law.
Once again, the public authorities are looking after themselves: as now became known, Deutsche Telekom was once again able to secure the rights for all games of the upcoming World Cup. All games of the anniversary edition of the biggest football tournament will once again only be available at MagentaTV.
