CLERMONT-FERRAND TO AMBERT, FRANCE, JUL 31 – Maëva Squiban executed a perfectly timed 32km solo attack to win stage 6, securing a historic first French one-two finish and finishing 1:09 ahead of second, race officials said.
- On Thursday, Maëva Squiban, UAE Team ADQ rider, won stage six after a 32km solo attack on Col du Chansert during the 123.7km Clermont-Ferrand to Ambert route.
- Stage six's medium-mountain route included five categorised climbs, notably the first-category Col du Béal and a Col du Chansert bonus sprint.
- Squiban’s advantage was clear as she crossed the line 1:09 minutes ahead of Juliette Labous, securing France’s first one-two finish in the event’s history.
- Le Court-Pienaar retained her yellow jersey with a 26-second cushion, remaining ahead of Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, who stayed second overall.
- Looking ahead, the Tour continues on Friday with a 159.7km hilly stage from Bourg-en-Bresse to Chambery, highlighting UAE Team ADQ’s resilience.
