Since the start of the Mpox epidemic in mid-December 2025, more than 850 cases have been reported. This weekend, the spokesman of the Ministry of Public Health announced that 209 patients have been declared cured and no deaths have been reported. In the country's major cities, awareness-raising among the most vulnerable audiences has begun. Prostitutes are particularly targeted as the risk for them to catch the virus and spread it is high.
