The head of state tried to show himself on the front line, Wednesday 31 December, during his vows for 2026. "This year will be useful," he promised. In France as well as abroad, however, his margin of manoeuvre is shrinking as soon as the end of the quinquennium approaches.
On the occasion of his vows of 2026, Macron emphasized national unity, European defence and economic sovereignty, while reaffirming his will to complete his mandate.
