Macklemore announces Free Palestine Tour
All proceeds will support charities aiding Palestinians as Macklemore adds more dates after launching the tour in Europe.
- On Thursday, Grammy Award-winning rapper Macklemore announced a "Free Palestine Tour" launching in October with arena shows in Dublin, Paris, and London, confirming all proceeds will benefit humanitarian organizations supporting Palestinians.
- Macklemore was previously removed from Ed Sheeran's tour after making pro-Palestine comments at a New Jersey concert earlier this month, alleging that Robert Kraft, CEO of Kraft Group, pressured Sheeran to drop him from performances.
- "So, as you all know, my schedule freed up a bit," Macklemore said, explaining he spent the last week contacting artists who would stand in solidarity with Palestinians, describing the effort as a "moment of momentum."
- Presale tickets go on sale Monday at 10 a.m., with general sales starting Wednesday; proceeds will benefit six organizations including Anera, Glia, and the Palestinian Youth Movement supporting Palestinians.
- Beyond the European dates, Macklemore will perform a solo show on October 22 in Colorado, while organizers expect to announce additional tour stops, including future United States dates, in the coming weeks.
