Spain govt to cover full cost of repairing flood-damaged buildings
Valencia, Spain (AFP) Jan 23, 2025 - Spain's central government will cover the full cost of rebuilding schools, libraries and other municipal buildings damaged in last year's deadly floods, Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said Thursday.
The president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, has committed himself, in front of about thirty mayors affected by the dana, to cover with direct and substantially lost aid 100% of the cost of the works in the municipal infrastructures that suffered damage due to the torrential rains. It is a total of about 100 administrative buildings, among them 45 children's schools, 58 libraries, 55 sports centers, 40 day centers and 16 markets and lonjas.
