Inside M&S's Huge New Flagship Store as Retailer Continues 500-Store Expansion
The four-floor store spans almost 100,000 square feet and adds made-to-order suit fittings, digital displays and a dedicated beauty hall.
Marks & Spencer opened its refurbished Pantheon store on London's Oxford Street, a four-floor flagship spanning almost 100,000 square feet designed as a blueprint for future store layouts.
M&S chief executive Stuart Machin said the opening reflects the strategy to "protect the magic and modernise the rest," noting the retailer has "25 years of catching up to do" modernising its estate.
Shoppers will find a made-to-order suit fitting service and Kelly Hoppen-designed homeware space inside Pantheon. Digital screens, bespoke fragrances, and curated playlists create an immersive shopping environment across four levels.
Alongside Pantheon, M&S continues work on its Marble Arch redevelopment after securing planning approval from former housing secretary Angela Rayner. The nine-storey building will house a flagship store, offices, a café, and a gym.
M&S has opened more than 20 new or upgraded stores in the last year and plans to modernise around 500 locations over the coming years. The retailer is targeting "highly visible" and "accessible" sites across the UK capable of delivering 6,000 to 10,000 square feet of trading space.
