Louisiana lawmakers advance bill for inmate education reform

House Bill 111, introduced by Representative Mandie Landry, would allow inmates to reduce their sentences by earning an associate's degree, and House Bill 274 would allow more people to participate in the M.J. Foster Promise Program, which provides financial aid for pursuing an associate's degree.
