Flyers Sign Free-Agent Goalie, Add Centers and Defensemen
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, JUN 30 – The Flyers signed center Christian Dvorak to a $5.4 million one-year contract and goaltender Dan Vladar to a two-year deal to improve depth after releasing Louie Belpedio.
The Philadelphia Flyers released defenseman Louie Belpedio on June 30, 2025, as part of offseason roster changes.
General manager Danny Briere indicated in April that the team had a limited window to add players from outside during free agency to address key needs.
The Flyers bolstered their roster by signing Christian Dvorak to a one-season contract worth $5.4 million, bringing in goaltender Dan Vladar on a two-year, $6.7 million deal, and agreeing to one-year contracts with defensemen Noah Juulsen and Dennis Gilbert, as well as center Lane Pederson.
Dvorak, a 29-year-old former Montreal player who secured a faceoff win rate of 55.2 percent across four seasons, is anticipated to take on the fourth-line center position vacated by the traded Ryan Poehling.
The Flyers aim to improve in the 2025-26 season under Briere and president Keith Jones while maintaining their rebuilding plans and evaluating new acquisitions like Dvorak over one year.
Daniel Vladař is changing his NHL team after four years in Calgary, Canada. The Czech hockey goalie is moving to Philadelphia, where he signed a two-year contract with an average annual salary of $3.35 million.
