Lockheed Martin Expands in Camden, Arkansas with $420M Investment
The expansion will support production for seven U.S. Department of War programs and follows a January groundbreaking for a Munitions Acceleration Center.
On Monday, November 2, 2026, Lockheed Martin announced a $420 million capital investment in Camden, Arkansas, expected to create 650 new full-time jobs over five years.
Operating for four decades, the Camden facility has delivered more than 700,000 missiles and rockets from its 2.2-million-square-foot site in the Highland Industrial Park, with operations steadily increasing in recent years.
The new Munitions Acceleration Center supports a U.S. Department of War agreement to quadruple annual THAAD interceptor production from 96 to 400, advancing manufacturing for platforms like Terminal High Altitude Area Defense.
Camden site general manager Adam Bailey stated the company is investing at "unprecedented speed and scale" to accelerate production, while approximately 1,100 employees prepare for new manufacturing initiatives.
Governor Sanders noted the growth helps "rebuild America's defense industrial base," as the Arkansas Economic Development Commission works with local partners to leverage the investment for economic advancement in Ouachita County.
