Results Roll in, Slowly, in Minnesota’s 8 Congressional Races
Matt Little and Eric Pratt are vying for the open seat as Minnesota’s eight House races begin reporting after polls close, officials said.
On Tuesday, Democrat Matt Little and Republican Minnesota Senator Eric Pratt faced off for Minnesota's 2nd District seat, with early, unofficial results showing Little leading with 59.8% of the vote against Pratt's 40%.
Incumbent U.S. Representative Angie Craig vacated the seat after unsuccessfully seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate, leaving the 2nd District open.
Little, the former mayor of Lakeville, owns a law firm where he fights "big insurance companies for seniors and those with disabilities," while Pratt, from Prior Lake, has served in the Minnesota Senate since 2012.
The 2nd District, which covers a large swath of the Twin Cities' South Metro suburbs, is electing a new representative to replace Craig, with final results pending in early counting stages.
This race is one of eight U.S. House seats in Minnesota up for election, as the state's congressional delegation awaits final tallies following Tuesday's polling.
