After a severe storm on Saturday, with some residents and businesses still without electricity and farmers counting losses, the Government declared a state of emergency on Wednesday. According to the latest data from the Energy Distribution Operator (ESO), about 69 thousand consumers in the country are still without electricity.
The powerful storm that hit Lithuania last weekend caused massive damage to energy infrastructure and agriculture. In response to the dramatic situation, Polish energy crews will be supporting their Lithuanian counterparts in repairing the outages starting Thursday. The Lithuanian government has declared a state of emergency across the country.
